A shrubby, erect, native perennial that grows 24-40″ tall, the Sky Blue Aster is a part of a complete prairie mix for dry to mesic sites. Sky Blue Asters bear some of the truest blue flowers and are well suited for restorations and rehabilitations of prairies and savannas. They are also useful for vegetated dry swales, the back of rain gardens, and slope stabilization. This species has also been known as Symphyatrichum oolentangiense.
